Cameras are Rolling in Summer

Reading time

Cameras have started rolling for a summer of principal photography in South Tyrol/Südtirol. There are some interesting – and large-scale! – projects waiting in the wings for us: family films and dramas, documentaries, and short films.

The first projects to start shooting are the short film Bordovasca (directed by Giuseppe Zampella) produced by the Bolzano/Bozen-based Cooperativa 19 and the documentary about the life of Michael Gaismair – vom Reformer zum Rebellen (“Michael Gaismair – From Reformer to Rebel”) (directed by Wolfgang Moser) by mowo production, also from Bolzano.

Next up in August and September is Der Gejagte (“The Hunted One”) by good friends Filmproduktion (directed by Rick Ostermann), the third instalment in a popular gangster film series starring Tobias Moretti as winemaker Matteo, whose past is catching up with him. Also produced by Bolzano-based Albolina Film in September: the short film Der Maulbeerbaum (“The Mulberry Tree”) by Cornelia Schöpf and Federico Campana as well as the drama Così com’è, a co-production with Sutor Kolonko from Cologne (directed by Antonello Scarpelli). The list of productions to be shot in September is completed by Lassie – Ein neues Abenteuer (“Lassie – A New Adventure”), a Henning Ferbeer , Berlin production (directed by Hanno Olderdissen) telling the story of Flo and his beloved collie Lassie, as well as a remake of the children’s classic The Flying Classroom by UFA Fiction (directed by Carolina Hellsgård) starring, among others, Tom Schilling, Hannah Herzsprung, and Trystan Pütter. Die Chaosschwestern feat. Pinguin Paul (“The Chaos Sisters feat. Paul the Penguin”) (directed by Mike Marzuk) by Blue Eyes Fiction – co-produced by Südtiroler Filmvergnuegen, KARIBUFILM Produktion, Cologne; Velvet Films, Brussels; Dor Film, Vienna, and MMC Fiction, Cologne – completes the trio of family films. We are looking forward to an exciting filming season!
