Call 1/2022: 13 Very Different Projects Shooting in South Tyrol/Südtirol

A crime series, six feature films, four documentaries, and two short films will receive support in their production or pre-production activities from the South Tyrolean Film Fund and Commission as part of the first 2022 call.

The 13 projects which will receive funding for their production or pre-production activities are from Germany, Italy, and Austria, with many of them being co-productions, such as the historical feature film ZWEITLAND (“Second Country”) by South Tyrolean author and director Michael Kofler. Michael Kofler developed the first draft of his script at the first-ever IDM script lab RACCONTI. Now the drama will be shot on location in South Tyrol and will receive production funding.

Production funding will also be granted to the family film LASSIE – EIN NEUES ABENTEUER (“Lassie – A New Adventure”) by Hanno Olderdissen, LUBO by Giorgio Diritti, LA GUARDIA by Giulio Ricciarelli, the drama COSÌ COM'È by Antonello Scarpelli, and the crime series BRENNERO as well as the four documentaries FLASH WARS – AUTONOME WAFFEN (“Flash Wars – Autonomous Weapons”), KÜNSTLICHE INTELLIGENZ UND DIE ZUKUNFT DER KRIEGSFÜHRUNG (“Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Warfare”) by Daniel Wunderer, Beniamino Casagrande’s I FIORI DI NESANG, VISTA MARE by Julia Gutweniger and Florian Kofler, and MICHAEL GAISMAIR – VOM REFORMER ZUM REBELLEN (“Michael Gaismair – From Reformer to Rebel”) by Wolfgang Moser.

Moreover, the two short films CORTE by Magdalena Mitterhofer and Richard Gabriel Gersch as well as Giuseppe Zampella’s BORDAVASCA will also receive production funding. The only project to receive funding for pre-production activities is the feature film ITALY FIRST by director Luca Vendruscolo.
