Elena von Saucken was born in Munich and holds a degree in Media Planning, Development and Consultancy. Between 2004 and 2005, she attended the Masterclass for Young European Producers, a joint initiative of the Film Academy of Baden-Württemberg and of La Fémis in Paris. In 2010, she was invited to attend the Munich Screenplay Workshop at the Academy of Film and Television in Munich. Her very first screenplay was directed by Florian Cossen and produced as the award-winning feature film The Day I Was Not Born in 2010. Her latest script, Laura Dekker (writing title), won the Thomas Strittmatter Script Award 2021.
