Luca+Silvana

Luca+Silvana

Stefano Lisci, 2018
Synopsis

Luca and Silvana have been dating regularly for more than eight years: pizza with friends, movies on Sunday, seaside holidays with Silvana's relatives and, as so often happens to people in love, even those who - like them - have Down Syndrome, they want to marry and spend the rest of their lives together. When Luca's parents died Luca was put in the care of social services. Due to several legal issues linked to inheritance, the wedding has been continually postponed. While waiting for the situation to be resolved, the couple decide to make a trip to see Silvana's dad: Luca, good Sicilian man that he is, has decided to ask him for his daughter's hand in marriage. Silvana, instead, wants to re-establish the relationship with the father she misses. Luca+Silvana describes their journey and all the difficulties that the pair will face to realize their dream. A love story with tragicomic undertones that will make us reflect on how our society perceives the Down Syndrome.
