Synopsis

In 1996 Rob Hall leads a team up Everest, leaving behind his pregnant wife Jan. Rob’s team joins Scott Fischer's, but they are delayed by bottlenecks. Some climbers give up and Scott starts to struggle. Although Rob tries to dissuade him Doug, who failed his first attempt, perseveres. Several men are stranded during a storm and several die, including Doug and Scott. Rob is unable to move and Beck is left for dead. Rob calls Jan one last time while Beck is rescued by helicopter. Jan greets the survivors on their return, giving birth a few months later.
