Isabel Kleefeld, 2018CLEMENS and CORINNA have been divorced for two years and Clemens has remarried to the attractive physiotherapist ALEXA. Clemens and Corinna's best friends, three couples, all academics in their fifties, have learned for necessity's sake to tolerate the new woman by Clemens' side. When Clemens dies completely unexpectedly the friends are rattled. Corinna sees herself as the legitimate widow and wishes to take care of inheritance matters all by herself - and so bypasses Alexa. On a hike - which Clemens had planned previously and lovingly for himself, Alexa and the friends - Alexa, with her quiet simplicity, stirs up the group of Generation X academics, already tormented by fears of mortality as it is, and uncovers inevitability a construct of conflicts, embarrassments and sham existences. Will the friends, and especially Alexa and Corinna - as hard as it is for them, too - find their way back into life, overcome the "dead point" and hope for a "second wind"?
