Synopsis

Five thousand years ago in the Ötztal Alps. A man leaves his family to go hunting. When the man returns he discovers his woman and child murdered, their dwelling burned to the ground, the religious fetish stolen.
Driven by the desire for revenge, the man sets off in search of the murderers of his family. An arduous odyssey follows through the high mountains, the forces of nature and other itinerants a permanent threat to the man, his own mortality a constant companion.
When the man finally reaches his goal and confronts his foes he becomes confused, realising that aside from his feelings of revenge he also feels compassion...
