Synopsis

The documentary filmmaker Pepe Danquart travels in "Vor mir der Süden" through Italy. He was inspired by the journey of Pier Paolo Pasolini with his Fiat Millecento in 1959. Danquart receives deep insights in the social reality of the modern Italy, which is influenced and confronted by a new phenomenon: the mass tourism, which is more than ever characterized by hedonistic enforced conformity.Furthermore, lies the focus on the African migrants who reach the coast of Italy after their dangerous escape to Europe. Danquart want to walk on the paths of Pasolini, likewise with a Fiat Millecento (1100), to make a documentary about his journey by reconstructing it.
