Synopsis
South Tyrol, 1924. After a screening of his film, mountain climber and actor Luis Trenker meets the ambitious young Leni Riefenstahl. Sparks immediately fly between the two, but the relationship develops quickly into a rivalry that, in turn, erupts in a power struggle between two of the greatest filmmakers of the day. At first it seems as if Luis Trenker will win the battle, achieving fame and fortune for his films The Rebel and The Prodigal Son. He realizes – too late – how dependent he has made himself upon political circumstances, though.
