Silvio SoldiniAutumn 1943, in Gross-Partsch, a village very close to the Wolf's Lair, Hitler's hidden headquarters arrives Rosa, a twenty-six woman from Berlin, to stay with her husband's parents, Gregor, who's fighting on the Russian front. One morning the SS take her away from home to a mysterious place. They make her sit at a table and put a delicious dish before her. So, Rosa joins the group of the Food Tasters, monitored after every meal by the SS to make sure the food to be served to Hitler is not poisoned. In the closed environment of those forced meals, under the watchful eyes of their jailers, alliances, secret pacts, and friendships develop among the nine young women, especially between Rosa and Elfriede, the most mysterious girl. Then, during the spring of 1944, arrives a new commander, Albert Ziegler. Stern and unfair, he establish-es a climate of terror, yet - while the Führer, like an invisible deity, looms over them all - a special, inconceivable bond forms between him and Rosa.
