Die Einsiedler

Synopsis

On a small mountainfarm, in the middle of South Tyrol, lives the Egger family. Marianne and Rudl are by now of old age and cope with their everyday life more or less on their own. Their only son Albert had decided to live his life in the village nearby a long time ago and left. It was an escape from the lonesomeness of the mountains, but also from the custodianship of his mother. One day, Rudl falls from the roof of the farmhouse into his death and heraids the assumed end of the farm in a tragic way. But the pious farmer Marianne covers the dead of her husband in order to be able to stay on the farm. A bizarre masquerade begins.
