Fane Alm Alpine Village
Description
Fane Alm is considered to be South Tyrol’s most beautiful alpine village. It is situated at 1,739 m.a.s.l, high in the Val di Valles (Valsertal) and is surrounded by beautiful mountains and natural scenery. The quaint alpine village is home to residential cottages, hay barns, a small church and three Alm taverns. Fane Alm originated in the Middle Ages as a hospital for plague and cholera victims; today it is pedestrian-only and protected as a historical monument.
