Amaten
Description
Amaten, an idyllic village overlooking the city of Brunico (Bruneck), is located at an elevation of about 1,260 metres. Eduard Wolfgruber planted a tree here on his wedding day in 1947 as a token of love for his wife Maria: it still stands here, solitary, in a meadow. The site has lost none of its romantic character, even today, and couples of all ages enjoy the wonderful views of the Brunico Valley Basin from here. A brass plaque was mounted on the tree trunk in 1997 in celebration of the couple’s fiftieth wedding anniversary.
