But behind all the summer dolce far niente lies a gigantic system that makes mass tourism possible. Vista Mare looks behind the scenes and tells the stories of the often overlooked people who work among plastic palm trees and pedal boats to keep the system running, giving the rest of us a place to finally take a break. Between summer dreams based on nostalgia and precarious seasonal contracts, Vista Mare searches for cracks in paradise, uses cinematic precision to highlight the contradictions and abysses between people within the Adriatic system, and questions the conditions within the tourism industry.
