Talents and Short Film Market - TSFM Summer Event #1


The Talents and Short Film Market – Summer Event is a short film conference in collaboration with Turin’s Talents and Short Film Market, supported by the Italian, German, and Ladin Cultural Divisions of Bolzano/Bozen, South Tyrol. The conference will take place in Silandro, South Tyrol (IT) at BASIS from 29th June to 2nd July 2023.

The event aims to reach both local and international filmmakers of short films (with a special focus on participants from Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, and the Balkans), as well as young emerging talents and people passionate about the short film industry who wants to deepen their understanding of the audio-visual field.
The program offers pitching sessions, one-to-one meetings, panels, a masterclass, and various networking activities.

Where: BASIS - Social Activation Hub (former Druso barrack, Via Corzes 97), 39028 Silandro, South Tyrol (IT)
Who: audio-visual professionals and talents from South Tyrol and elsewhere (with a particular focus on European German-speaking countries, Eastern Europe, and the Balkans) but also young people from South Tyrol and Trentino willing to explore the audio-visual field

- Five Shorts One Pitch (call open until 12th May 2023 - extended Deadline)
At Five Shorts One Pitch the creative teams of filmmakers, screenwriters, and producers of the Alpine region (Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Liechtenstein, Monaco e Slovenia) will present their short film projects. The filmmakers can apply for the Five Shorts One Pitch through the TSFM website by 12th May 2023.

- Pitch What’s The Story?
What’s The Story? is a workshop series aimed at developing short films within the TSFM. During the different workshops, which will last for five days and whose will take place in different European cities (among those Bolzano in May 2023), filmmakers and screenwriters - together with tutors - will work tightly to develop their short film projects. The developed projects will be then presented at the What’s The Story? Pitching Session to engage with potential producers.

One-to-one meetings will be arranged at the end of both pitching sessions.



- Everything, Everywhere, All At Once – The how-to short film distribution with Marija Milovanovic of Lemonade Films (Austria) and Ben Vandendaele from Radiator IP Sales (Belgium).

- Show Me The Money! – Opportunities for funding short films with Birgit Oberkofler from IDM Film Commission Südtirol.

- Pitch Me, If You Can – A presentation of the most renewed pitching events with Barbara Dukas from Drama Pitching Lab (Greece), Rebecca Heiler from Script PitchThe Script Competition of interfilms (Germany), and Viviana Carlet from Lago Film Festival – Premio Sonego (Italy).



Ronny Trocker (filmmaker, Italy) will hold the masterclass.


TSFM VISITORS PROGRAMME (call open until 9th June 2023)

The Visitors Programme of the TSFM Summer Event aims to provide all teenagers and young adults from 18 years old with an overview of the film landscape and introduce them to the cinematographic language. Through some online workshops and free attendance in the TSFM Summer Event, basic knowledge of the film industry will be provided. The programme will take place in German and Italian. Three tutors will support the participants: Massimiliano Gianotti and Giuseppe Zampella (filmmakers and organizers of the short film contest BZ48H) and Martine De Biasi (filmmaker and staff member of the School for Documentary ZeLIG, Bolzano).
All participants will receive an accreditation for the TSFM Summer Event and free accommodation in Silandro from the 1st to the 2nd of July and, they are all invited to the networking brunch Sunday 2nd July 2023.

The price for accreditation needs to be paid through the TSFM website:

regular accreditation, price 10,00€, by 31st May 2023;
late accreditation, price 20,00€, from 1st to 15th June 2023.
