Location tour through inspiring landscapes, direct to your perfect location

Explore secret corners of South Tyrol and network at the same time. IDM Film Fund & Commission’s location tour PLACES enables producers, directors, authors and production managers to start looking for ideal locations for their upcoming project.

This year’s tour takes place from 7th to 9th October. IDM Film Commission has selected Ultental (Val d’Ultimo), a valley which is still rather unknown – but all the more authentic for the very same reason.

The 40-kilometer-long valley, also known simply as Ulten, runs parallel to Vinschgau (Venosta) to the north; it leads to the Adige Valley near Lana, in the Merano Valley Basin. Ultental not only boasts breathtaking landscapes but is also home to a number of very unique buildings: Villa Hartungen, an Art Nouveau villa immersed in the countryside and near a natural spring, is among them.

In addition to visiting interesting locations, PLACES # 9 participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about South Tyrol’s measures for Green Shooting and coronavirus safety protocols. In-depth information about IDM’s film-funding program will also be made available.

The program is open to a maximum of 10 participants. The tour is designed expressly for film professionals who are active on the Italian and German-speaking markets; it is, however, also open to other nationalities. Good knowledge of English is a must.
